Its spring time everyone!!! I'd like to invite everyone for a Spring dust off Show and Shine at Hall Dodge Saturday the 29th from 9-4. No judging just a good time to kick back and relax, tell some lies of what we did or didn't do over the winter break. Scott Benson the Service Manager at Hall will be cookin' up a pig for lunch, if you were there last year it was great!!
So get in your garage and dust of the car or truck and lets welcome SPRING!!!

From the Prez Rick & the Street Rodders: Have you heard about a DMV inspector coming to people's home to verify if they are legal as far as registration and license tags go? Below is an e-mail that I forward to my club members. Brian is a friend of ours and he said the inspector was once a State Police Officer and has a badge to back him up as to being who he says he is. Brian said the inspector was very business like and was not trying to give him a hard time, just doing his job. Brian changed his tags some time ago to regular street tags because he drives thousands of miles a year on road tours. He does not have Antique or Vintage tags on his car.
Brian changed from antique tags to current vanity tags almost 2 years ago. I believe his tag says DA JA VU or something to that effect. They were at his home for about 2 1/2 hours, wanted to verify his VIN #, motor and transmission #'s and such. He had all of this information before he got to Brian's house. Something raised a flag about his car to bring this on, BUT Brian said DMV is starting to crack down on all sorts of things now.
The inspector told Brian that the ONLY vehicles that can display antique tags are vehicles that are factory stock with NO modifications. The inspector has a computer in his car to check all of the tags in the DMV data base and HE HAS THE AUTHORITY TO PULL YOUR TAGS ON THE SPOT! We think that vintage tags (year of vehicle) are not part of this, just the black and the yellow antique tags. He also told Brian that those people that have purchased a title from other sources that are not for their vehicle are breaking the law. Also the folks who made their own antique vanity tags are being checked into. Brian will hear from DMV in about 2 weeks, if not he is to call them for his status.
I will try and contact some folks who may a little more about this and get back to you at that time. If you have the antique tags, you may want to think about this because almost everyone one of us have many modifications on our vehicles. Is your vehicle factory stock?
We may want to see if this inspector can give us a run down on these regulations at one of our meetings before we find out on the side of the highway one day with no tags.
Scott will also be cooking up some Nathan\x{2019}s hot dogs to keep us warmed up that day.. So if you can support this on such notice please drop me a line to confirm.

We need to have coverage from 10 am to 9 PM Friday AND Saturday with Sunday being 10 am to 5 PM. This is a good place to share our hobby, the VFC, your club and such with a large mass of people. It is also a good place to recruit new members for your club ... t he life blood of any organization. In addition, we will get passes for those who help or work the booth for the "big show."
The VPCCC will start it's meetings back up on Jan 17th at Olivet Church in NN.

It is a fun time for all with lots of music, food etc. I know they would be grateful and love to see the cars.
